Gavin's First Flight!

On Wednesday, June 25 Gavin and I flew up to Utah. I was totally nervous because Mike had to stay home and work for a few more days before he comes up for the 4th. I didn't know how Julie and I were going to get through security with 2 babies, 2 car seats and 2 strollers...yikes! To make a long story short, everything went surprisingly well :) So, I managed to get everything packed up, got to the airport, checked in and through security...all we had to do now is board the plane and hope Gavin does well on the flight and pray his ears won't hurt!
After we got to the gate, Gavin asked where we were going and I told him he got to go on his first plane ride. I also told him that the plane was blue :) He was happy and smiled at me :) (ok, I know he had NO idea what I was saying, but he does smile when I talk to him)
"...at this time we will board all passengers traveling with children or infants..." I looked and Julie and asked if she was ready. So, we grabbed our stuff and started boarding the plane :) EXCITING! I can't count how many times someone asked us if Gavin and Crew were twins...it was pretty funny.

Just after I got him buckled up he fell asleep. I guess all the excitment made him tired :) He slept the WHOLE time, I couldn't believe it.
We made it! This is us just after we landed. Gavin is still sleeping, and mom is sooooo tired!

As we got off the plane Julie asked if we could get a picture of the boys in the cockpit...I said that there is no way they would let us, but I was wrong. So, here is little Gavi and I with the co-pilot. Gavin trying to fly the plane :) I just love his little face in this picture!
After we got pictures the flight attendent gave Gavin a certificate for his first flight. What a fun experience we had! I can't wait for all the other experiences I'll get to share with my son :)

1 Month old!

Gavin turned one month old yesterday :) I can't believe Mike and I no longer have a new born...we have an infant. He is so funny. He will lay in bed and make all kinds of faces and grunts. He's totally Mr. Personality! When he is happy, he is happy. When he is mad, he lets you know and when he is hungry, it's NOT hard to figure out :)

Happy Fathers Day!

To Daddy: I love you so much! Thanks for always changing my diapers, feeding me, holding me, and loving me. I hope I grow up to be just like you. Your the best daddy in the whole wide world! Happy Fathers Day. Love, Gavin

Mike and Gavin enjoying their first Fathers Day together :) Mike had to work tonight, but we managed to squeeze in dinner with Julie, Sheldon and Crew. We had roast, potatoes, rice, corn and lemon cake. I made the cake for the boys, but I think Julie and I ate most of it :) When I was pregnant I could eat as much as I wanted because I could blame it on Gavin, but now there is no excuse...I just love sweet stuff!!! It was also fun to talk to the family with web cam tonight. We love it here in AZ, but sure do miss the fam!

All because of him...but totally worth it!

Here is another picture of Gavin :) Each day brings us our challenges but I love being home with him right now. I'm going to be so sad in a few weeks when I have to go back to work and start being away from him! A 12 hour shift might just feel like eternity!

I woke up yesterday and wasn't feeling good. Without going into too much detail, lets just say Mommy has another ouchy! :( I was totally disappointed because I thought to myself "man, what else has to go wrong with me." But then I thought about my whole pregnancy and everything was perfect. It wasn't until my due date that the problems started rolling in. So, it's almost been a month and I've had about 6 days where I thought the healing process was on an upward slope, but yesterday this process started going south...I guess it's totally worth it because I get to have Gavin :)

Yea for ice packs, dermoplast spray, tucks pads, donuts, sitz baths, lidocaine, my mom, my husband and my pain meds :) I could not of survived these past 4 weeks with you!

Hayden or Gavin??

So...what's your guess...is this Hayden or Gavin?
If you thought the first picture was Hayden and the second one was Gavin then you guessed right! Mike showed me that picture of Hayden and at a quick glance I thought it was Gavin...it's CRAZY how much both boys look alike! I don't know if it's because I grew up with mostly sisters or if it's because I was around so many girls with dance, or if it's because I like the color pink so much but I always just imagined me with girls...not boys. But, hot wheels and helicopters are just as much fun as dress up and tea parties right? It won't be long before Mike and I are attending thousands of soccer, baseball, or basketball games :)
Here is princess Maggie...our little baby sitter :) As most of you know, Maggie here can't (or should I say won't) jump up on the couch so she likes to put her paws up and grab the blankets with her mouth and pulls them onto the floor so she can lay on them. I can't tell you how many times I've had to get off the couch and get Maggie her own blanket because she is always trying to take mine. Well, the other day Mike walked into the living room and found Maggie pulling the blanket off of Gavin while he was in his swing. That little turd! That's why I called her the little baby sitter...because she'll watch Gavin alright, she'll watch him cry when she has his blanket and he doesn't :)

Lazy days...

Wow...where does time go? I was looking through some pictures this morning and came across the date on this one and I couldn't believe it's been almost a year because it seems just like yesterday that we took this picture. Last night (as I sat on the couch doing nothing as usual) I was thinking that I haven't done anything productive today. I was still in my p.j's, haven't taken a shower and I don't even think I brushed my hair today :( Then I started thinking about all the stuff I haven't done this week. I did some laundry, washed a few dishes, changed a lot of diapers, took care of Gavin, but nothing too exciting. After awhile I decided to just go to bed. This morning I woke up with a totally different attitude. After looking at this picture I was thinking about all the stuff Mike and I have accomplished this past year. We both had a tough semester, continued working full time plus some, we both moved, got married, bought a car, had a baby, and now back to work and school. After realizing all the stuff we have done this past year I don't feel bad about having a few lazy days :) So...here's to lazy days! We all deserve them, we all need them, and we all have them!

P.S. I am going to shower and change my clothes today :)

Update...

Mike, Jenni and Gavin on Sunday, June 1st. We all went and saw Julie and Sheldon bless their son Crew. After the blessing we had a BBQ. It was nice spending time with family and friends on a beautiful sunny Sunday afternoon!

Here is Gavin only 17 days old. Boy he is changing fast! I'm not sure what I ate, but something upset his tummy and it has been a hard couple of days ! I felt so bad for our little man so I bought him a piggy wrist rattle to cheer him up :) Today he is feeling much better. I'm also feeling a lot better because Mike watched Gavin in the other room all night so I could actually get more than 2 hours of sleep. It was the first time in over 5 months that I slept the whole night...and it felt GREAT!! Thanks Mike!
