"...bearers of the children..."

This quote has been on my mind this month...

 This is a picture of Gavin one afternoon when we drove to jamba juice :)  I've been trying to slow down a little bit when I'm with the kids and LISTEN to them.  It's so fun to hear his little 3 year old accent as he tells me stories and describes the world around him.  If it weren't for Gavin I would have no idea when a bird flew by or a big truck drove across the street or if a kid was riding his bike along the sidewalk.

 I am so in LOVE with this picture!!!  Evan has such a desire to learn everything and it's fun!  If his older brothers are doing something he wants to do it also.  I was nervous buying him his own skateboard, but he can ride it and he's pretty good.  He also rides his bike and scooter like a champ!  I'm having a blast watching his coordination develop and his self confidence grow :)

 Gavin got a new GREEN buzz lightyear bike!  I was sooooo proud of him because when he told me he wanted a new bike I explained to him that he needs to save his money and be willing to sell some of his old toys to earn money for his bike.  He agreed and together we made enough money for his bike and helmet and still had some left over to put into his savings :)  I'm really trying hard to teach Gavin that if he wants something he needs to work hard for it and once he gets it he needs to take care of it.  He was so proud he bought this bike with his own money and today Mike and I celebrated his success with him!   

I feel so blessed and proud to say that I'm the mom of these two sweet, happy, healthy boys!  It is a HUGE responsibility to "nurture them and establish within them the habits of their lives..."  I'm always wondering if I'm going a good enough job or if I'm giving them the comfort, security and attention that every human desires.  I know I make a million mistakes, but I'm learning and these two boys have changed my life for the better and have taught me how to truly LOVE someone and I do believe that "no other work reaches so close to divinity."  Thank you Gavin and Evan for everything but mostly for letting me be your mommy!
